Halloween/Trick or Treat Blog Hop Day 1

Well hi everyone, know I haven't posted in a while, due to so much going on in my house. I have a wonderful group of talent ladies in the hop. I will be offering blog candy of Cricut Lite Cartridge (the Billonaire) and a 2nd drawing is for a layout I made about the Cricut. To be in the drawing you need to:

Autumn is Here Blog Hop Day 2

Well it was a summer day here again. I keep crossing my fingers that we will not get the Indian Summer this year. I am really wanting Fall to start. I know that means Winter is not far behind, but I like Winter as well. I have only 3 seasons that I truly like and Summer isn't really one of them. I think if I lived somewhere that the Summers were not so dang hot, I might change my mind. It also doesn't help that I don't like Misquito's and they are abundant here during Summer. Well enough, Fall will be here when Mother Nature deams it time.

Well there are 14 very talented ladies along with myself that are participating in the hops. They had some really awesome projects yesterday, so be prepared for some creativity for today on those who are doing a different post for today.

Autumn Layout:

Again I used papers from an old paper pack from CTMH. It is one of my favorites and will be sad when I have no more of it left.

Pardon the inking on this Title. My little one was trying her hand at it. It makes this layout a bit more special for me.

These are from 2 swaps I was in back in either 2008 or 2009. I thought that they where just cute.

I know a bit backwards, but this is the 1st page of the layout. It is called working on very little sleep and trying to finish my Halloween Mini I am working on.

Again my little did the inking of the leaves, but I like it. The saying was something I had from years and years ago and decided to use. Not sure who the author is, but it is perfect. It reads like this:

"Autumn winds begin to blow, colored leaves fall fast and slow.

Twirling, whirling all around 'til at last they touch the grown."

The middle embellishment is from a very old Jolee's package I had stashed. But the other 2 on the sides are inches I made for a swap.

Again, a bit backwards on how the pictures are loaded, but what can I say, mistakes happen.

Autumn is Here Blog Hop

Ok, so life is a bit messy at times, but we muddle through. Well Autumn/Fall makes all the garbage worth it for me. I love the changing leaves and the cool crisp weather and the smells are fantastic. So here is a hop after my heart.

Hayride in Autumn Layout

My family and I love to take the Hayrides through the Pumpkin Patch or the Apple Orchard depending on which one is available. I was loved to go to my Grandparents house in Washington and play in the Apple Orchard, so I am partcial to the Apple Hayride. LOL

Everything on this layout is out of stock that is no less than 2 years old to 8 years old.

Even the paper used is from an old collection from CTMH. I am still doing really good on not buying anything except for glue.

All the elements are very old Jolee's embellishment.

I added a tag for journaling and made a pocket for it under one of the photo mats.

Isn't this Scarecrow just too cute! I loved this and have not used it cause I liked it so much. Well I did a good thing and used it. lol

I thought this Autumn title was perfect for this layout because I truly am crossing my fingers that we will get to go up to Apple Hill and go on a hayride through the orchard.

These elements just made it even more exciting for me thinking of the up coming festivals and great happening that happen in Autumn.

Hawaii Themed Blog Hop Day 2

Well happy Sunday. Welcome to Day 2 of the Hawaii Themed Blog Hop hosted by Nicolette at Beyond Scrapin. You should have arrived here from Anita's Blog, if not be sure to hop over to Nicolette's at Beyond Scrapin to start your journey.

Hawain Altered Clorox Wipe Container:

This is an empty Clorox Wipe container that I have made into a Pencil/Pen holder for my little one.

The Hula Girl was from Paper Doll Cricut Cartridge cut at 4". I inked the hair, lei, and grass skirt.

The flowers are Prima, but I mixed and matched to get the colors I wanted. Used a copper colored brad to pull them together.

I cut a 2 3/4 inch circle with a 2 1/4 circle layer for the top of the lid. Then used a 3D sticky dot to attach the Prima.

The Clorox Wipe holder part inside the container I removed with a craft knife to make it easier to place pencils and pen into container. The paper used is by BoBunny's Mango Luau Dude (the striped paper) and Mango Luau (the brown with orange flowers).

Hawaii Theme Blog hop August 20th and 21st

Well hello to you all, hope your week was a pleasant one. Welcome the Day 1 of the Hawaii Theme Blog Hop, hosted by Nicolette at Beyond Scrapin. You should have arrived here from Anita's Blog, if not be sure to hop over to Nicolette's at Beyond Scrapin to start your journey.

I had originally made a beautiful 2 page 8x8 layout for this hop. Well my dog has some real odd taste buds and loves the taste of stickles. I forgot to close the door to my craftroom last night and well my fur baby decided to eat my layouts. So this is what I have put together out of what I could salvage and some of my stash items that I have been holding on to. It isn't really the way I want it, but it is ok. I will have to mess with it over the next couple of days to see if I need to add or rearrange the items some. Well enough about the drama of my crafting world. My family is home and safe, we are all breathing. So with the Grace of God I am very thankful.

In the Islands - Aloha layout:

Yes, it is a very simple layout, but it will be the one that will have a picture of my family and I with the Lei's around our necks. The first picture we will take when we get to Hawaii.

This is a License Tag from a swap I was in back in 2005. This is the main piece I saved from the 2 page layout my dog chewed up. I loved the Flamingo dancing with a Hula Skirt. It is so Hawain to me.

The Flops are from my stash and I added some pen marks with a white gel pen. I believe the cut is from "Life's a Beach" Cricut Cartridge.

My little one decided that we needed to say something that would make it Hawaii and not some other islands. So she wrote on the Sun "Aloha" in black gel pen. I added white gel pen marks to have it stand out more on the page. This cut was also from my stash, but can't for the life of me remember which cartridge it was cut from.

The Palm Tree is from the "Life's a Beach" Cricut Cartridge. I added some white gel pen marks just to add something to make it stand out more. This was also in my stash of cuts (I have 14 of these 11 x 8 1/2 inch accordian file folders full of different cuts and swap items that I have yet to use. I am trying to cut that down at least by one folder by the end of this year.)

These are some fantastic Inchies that I swapped in an Inchie swap about 2 years ago. I just love them with all their little details. The Surf Board is so cool.

These are some more of those Inchies that I got in the same swap. The Flip Flop are pop dotted off the inchies and they are so cute.

This is my favorite Inchie! The Palm Tree is a die cut and the Green layer is also a die cut. The Palm is only about 1/2 inch in size. It is really one of the best. I wish the picture was better, but my I don't have the right lens for close-ups.

Update and information

Hi all, hope your week is going well. Mine is getting better finally, my son will be coming home tomorrow from the hospital. These past several weeks have been really very hard to deal with. I am not saying it is going to be easier when he comes home, if fact it will be harder, but he will be home and that to me is the most important thing to me. Also one of my family members is going in to surgery on Friday morning, so one more thing on my plate. I have been so very stressed that someone very sweet is letting go out on Saturday to relax and try to unwind a bit. I don't want to really go anywhere, but I know that I really need to get away and try to relax. Hopefully I will be able to come home Saturday and not be so up tight and stressed.

On a brighter side, this weekend I am participating in the Hawaii Themed Blog Hop hosted by Nicolette at Beyond Scrappin. So be sure to hop over and see all the wonderful projects that will be presented on so many wonderful blogs. I look forward to getting all of your comments.

A shout out to Zeni

A fine hello to you all out there. Hipe you all had a wonderful weekend. Today I send a shout out thank you to Zeni at Scrappy Zeni. I was a guest on her blog on August 6th while she was on vacation. Well I owe her an appology for not having my post up here on my site. Well unfortunatly some really bad thing have happened in the last couple of weeks with one of my children. I totally forgot about this post plus others that I was doing. So I am posting this now to show the project that I made and to say you really need to head over to Zeni blog and see some of her fantastic projects.

Here is my project that Zeni posted on August 6th. This project was a gift for a very good friend of mine who is a teacher. Her friends and I call her the Post-It Queen, cause everything has a some kind of Post-It note.

The project I created is a Post-It Holder Book. I used only scraps of papers that I had in my scrap bind. The stamps I used are from Stampin Up (Awash with Flowers and Friends 24-7). The images are colored using Prisma Color Pencils and paint thinner to blend the color. I inked the edge with Stampin Up - Pumpkin Pie ink. The inside has a pocket with a note card inside to write on. The Book holds the regular size Post-Its and the 1/2 size Post-Its. The book also has a Pen holder to hold a standard Bic Pen. The 2 books vary in size, due to one holding 2 regular Post-It Note Pads and 2 of the 1/2 size ones.

I learned how to make this from YouTube video from ChicnScratch. You can look it up under Post It Note Organizer.

Day 2 - Beginning of School Blog Hop

Happy Sunday all, hope you are enjoying your weekend. This is Day 2 of the hop, and hope that you got to see all the creative talent of the ladies participating in this hop yesterday. You will be inspired and see the crafting talent of all these wonderful women.

Ok on with Day 2 project:

School Days Layout:

This 2 page layout I made for my daughter for her new class I made 2 blue Journal Boxes to use a white gel pen with. The yellow boxes are for photos (one for her 1st school photo and one for her second school photo, also one for her class photo and another for her and her friends)

Page 1 is for her 1st and 2nd school picture.

Page 2 is for her class photo, journaling boxes, and a photo of her friends and her.

This large apple is cut from one of the Cricut Cartridges, but not sure which one. Everything on this layout was from my stash of extra die cuts and things I got in swaps. White gel pen was used to make the highlite.

The small apples are inchies I made for a swap and had tons left over.

This is one of the Paperkins Doll from back in 2002, that I was going to use on another layout back then, but didn't. Highlited the doll with black and white gel pens. Also with white gel pen wrote Back to Class on the black board and the whit on the apple.

This Globe was part of the Paperkins Doll kit. Used a black gel pen to highlite certian area's around areas.

This is one of the stamped items I received from a school swap I was in.

The title was part of a School swap I was in. I had 2 extra left and desided I was design around this. I used stickels to make the stars stand out. The background paper is from Leaving Prints.

Day 1 - Beginning of School Blog Hop

Hi all, sorry I have been MIA lately. I have been dealing with some real family emergencies of late. Everything is going to get better cause I believe in my faith and I know that it will all work out. Plus He will never put more on my plate than I can handle, this I know.

School Layout:

The background paper is from Stampin' Up (crumb cake), the rest of the papers are from my scrap stash.

Page 1 everything is handmade, except for the Title. Not sure where I got the title from, it wasn't in any packaging. The stickers are from my stash of very old stuff.

Page 2 everything here was handmade, except for the sticker and buttons.

This is a journaling book or extra photo book that I made from one I saw somewhere. Wish I could give credit to whom I got the idea from.

This is the first page of the inside of the journaling book or photo book.

This is the second page of the inside of the journaling book and photo book. I love these little tabs that I got in a die cut swap.

The file folder opens ups for more journaling. The small apples on the pages are inchies that I made and didn't end up using them. The larger apple is also a die cut from a die cut swap.

Christmas in July Layout

Well hello and a happy Saturday late night (this will end up on a Sunday morning post) to you all. It has been really crazy here. My computer wireless box fried itself and I had to go and get a new one. Not fun at all since I know nothing of this stuff and hubby is away at work. Well I got one and yes, I finally got it conected. YEAH!!!! Well I can plug wires into the slots on the back of the box. LOL Well enough of the girl who is not computer techy at all.
My layout today was inspired by everyone doing Christmas in July hops. Since it is the last day of July in a very few minutes. I thought today I'd better get something Christmas like done. Well I will admit I didn't use my Cricut at all. WOW!!!! I used paper piecing patterns I had from years ago and cut each of the pieces out by hand. Not so sure I will be doing that again. LOL I forgot how hard it was to do that. What did we all do with out our Cricut cutters and other cutting machines. Well on to the project and enough with the small talk.

Merry Christmas Layout:

I didn't add photo mats, cause I figured I would see if my photos needed them or not.

This is page one and I made Santa's bag a Journaling box for this page and figured I would arrange 2 pics around the bag.

The Steet Light I added white gel pen dots to give a little character to it. I also added Yellow Stickles to the light part to make it look like the light was on. The Tree, I use a gold gel pen for the garland, Pearl Pens for the orniments and the snow on the edge of the tree. I added Diamond Stickles to the snow on the whole layout to give some sparkle to the snow.

The Title is from a Dimensional Sticker pack that was purchased at Walmart at least 2 year to 3 years ago. I thought that the snow flakes on the sides went well with the snowflake pattern paper from Leaving Prints.

I added his eyes, nose and mouth with a black and red gel pen. I used the black and white gel pens to make the buttons on Santa's coat. Also used the white gel pen for some dots on his boots to help them look better. There is Glossy Accents added to the Boots, Top of Santa's Bag, and his Eyes, also Diamond Stickles to the White parts of Santa's Coat and Hat.

This is page 2 of the layout. The house/garage has a mat that can be used as a photo mat is I wanted, but I wanted it for Journaling.

There is Yellow Stickles added all over the yellow part of the Star. This Star can also be used either as a photo mat or a journaling box.

This cute little Snowman is also from the sticker pack that was purchased at Walmart. I though he was just to darn cute!!!

This Title was from the same Walmart sticker pack. I used it to show that Santa had already been to our house. :-)

The house was lined with a black gel pen to make it look like wood panels. The snow on the roof has Diamond Stickles on all of the white pieces. The Wreath was glittered with Diamond Stickles, with the berries being made with a Red Pearl Pen.

Well that is the Christmas in July project. I do hope you like it and I really love hearing anything thing you have to say. It is always a joy to read everyones comments. Well hope you have a wonderfully blessed Sunday.

Precious Moments Layout

TGIF to you all!!! Yes it is finally Friday!!! The weekend is almost upon us all. This is going to be a quite and peaceful weekend for me for a change. I figure, I will get some more projects planned and ready to put together and just enjoy the I don't have nothing planned. LOL Well enough about my lazy weekend to come.

Precious Moments:

Sorry don't know who the manufacturer of the pattern papers is for these papers. The cardstock is by CTMH. I inked the photo mats, small oval scallop punches, the oval green popka dot paper, and the velum titles

I used 2 differnt pieces of ribbon from my stash a chocolate 1" wide and the cream ribbon is 1/2" wide.

I added 3 of these roses to each page. I got these from a friend, who gets them from a company called "I am Roses". I think that added the right feel to the layout.

The saying I tried to cut in an oval (didn't do very good at the oval. I didn't have my oval cutter) out of the velum to match the Green pattern paper oval. I inked the edges of both pieces. Didn't have in vellum tape, so I used my ATG under the large capped words to hide the tape.

Here is a up close of one of the roses that my friend gave me. It really matched the paper, ribbon and the ink edges of the dies. Used VersaMagic Jumbo Java Chalk Ink to ink the edges.

Welcome and we are getting to the weekend fast. YIPE!!! It is very hot here in Cental California and I am crossing my fingers that the rest of you are having better than us here. I have a layout today that should make you think of the Ocean and the nice breezes that are out there on the Ocean.

All Aboard:

The background paper is from Leaving Prints and the cardstock is from Picture Perfect. I know still getting through the tons of old stuff I have.

My family and I took a cruise to Mexico back in 2009 and I never finished scrappin all the photos, so now is the time. LOL

The die cuts are from We R Memory Keepers - Embossed Designs - All Aboard. I didn't ink any of the edges, cause I like the crisp edges that the white had.

By the Sea Layout

Good morning and happy hump day to you all. Yes, it is Wednesday and we are almost through 1/2 of the work week. YEAH!!!. I have a layout today that makes me think of cool things. Which with the heat is much needed.

By the Sea:

The background paper is vintage CTMH paper from about 10 years ago. I know old, but at least I am trying to use up the old stuff. The card stock is Picture Perfect, also old. LOL

Used very few die cuts on this layout, cause I didn't want to take away from the pictures I will be using on these pages.

The die cuts are from We R Memory Keepers - Embossed Designs - By the Sea. It is dated 2003, so yes it is also very old as well. But I am giving myself credit to at least to be using it and not buying more.

Buddies Layout

Well good morning and a happy Tuesday to you all. The week is moving along and temperature is raising. Us here in Central California will be looking at 3 digit temps starting on Wednesday. I hope that the rest of you will be cooler. Well enough of the weather an on with my layout.

Buddies:

The background paper is from Leaving Prints and is very much a vintage paper. The cardstock is from Picture Perfect and is also from a time ago.

The Title on each page are from We R Memory Keepers - Embossed Designs - Best Friends

I used 2 sizes of Scalloped Circle punches, 2 sizes of Scalloped Oval punch, 1 Oval punch, 1 1/2 inch Circle punch and the Five Petal Flower punch from Stampin Up. I used a white gel pen to place some pen marks all around the Scalloped punches. It made them pop a bit more.

This would have been a quick layout if it wasn't for all the punching of the 5 Pedal Flowers I had to punch and put together. Well I hope you enjoyed my creations for today. I will have several more for each day this week, so be sure to hope over to see. Have a great rest of your week.

Snow Days Quickie

Hello and good afternoon all. Hope your Monday is going well. I did a really quick 5 minute LO (well to be honest about 10 minutes), that I was challenging myself to not take forever deciding what papers to go with the die cuts that I had. So this is what you call a really simple layout.

Snow Days:

The background paper is from My Minds Eye, but from at least 5 to 8 years ago. I know it is really bad to have things stashed away for that long. Well I am trying very hard to go through and clean up my stash.

The Green and Blue/Violet textured cardstock I believe is from DCWV. I am not sure, cause I have pulled from my huge stock of cardstock.

I tore the Green cardstock to make it look like the ground. I think I will be going back and adding something to make like snow on the top of the Green.

Well this was my really quick and not really finished layout. Hope you got a kick out of the vintage pattern paper. Have a blessed rest of your week.

Quick & Simple LO

Hi and happy Monday to you all. I am sorry that my post for Saturday never posted. Not sure what I or blogger did wrong, but I will post now.

Family Ties:

The background paper is from My Minds Eye and the cardstock is from Stampin Up and CTMH.

The die cuts are from We R Memory Keepers, Heritage Embossed Designs. Loved the little crochet flower, it almost looks like the real deal.

Behind the Crochet Flower Die, I added 2 different size Scallops punhes from Stampin Up. I also used a pin and put holes in each of the scallop edges.

Heirloom Layout

Good morning all, hope you had a restfull night. The sun is shining here and I hope it is where you are as well. Today, I am show casing a Heritage layout that I made. I still haven't figured out the pictures as of yet, but I will. LOL

Heirloom Layout:

The background paper is from My Minds Eye paper stack Bella Bella. I liked the added element of the bird on the flower bush to my layout.

The die cute elements used are from We R Memory Keepers - Embossibles Designs - Heritage - Olive 12 x 12 sheet. I inked all the edges of the die cuts and the photo mats (except for the black mat) with VersaMagic - Jumbo Java - Chalk Ink.

Each of the die cut elements (except for the 2 tags) are pop dotted up for dimension. I use Picture Perfect Cardstock for the photo mats, using 3 layers (black, craft, and cream). Also added some fibers to both the tags to give a different look than a brad.

Best Friends

Well it is Thursday. We made it over the hump of the week. I do hope you all are having a great week. So today I am posting a layout that I made that will have a picture of all three of my children. Page 2 will have a picture of my little one with her sister and another picture with her brother.

The background paper is from Leaving Prints from the year 2006. The Die Cuts are from The Beary Patch called the Denim Frame & Strips #049 dated 2002. The cardstock is from Picture Perfect.

The photo mat is for a 5x7 with the cream piece being 5 1/4 x 7 1/4 then up 1/4 inch for each layer. The Journaling Boxes are each 2 1/2 x 4 1/2. I inked each of the boxes with Versa Magic Jumbo Java Chalk ink. The Teddy Bear and the Title are both popped up with Pop Dots.

The photo mats here are for 4 x 6 pictures with the cream being 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 then up 1/4 inch for each layer after. I found some of this Daisy Trim in my stash and added it to the bottom of the border and to the top of each picture mat. The Teddy Bear and the 2 Titles are all popped up using Pop Dots.

These flower were made using the 5 Petal Flower punch and the 1/2 Circle Punch for the centers The punches are from Stampin Up. I inked the edges of all the layers and used glue dots to adhere them. I folded up the ends of all the layers to give a little more pop than just using the Pop Dots.

Halloween in July

Well I have been MIA for a couple of day to celebrate and to get some major yard work done around my house. Well it is done and now it is on to creating. YEAH!!! So here we go with fun stuff. I got a chance to work with some really fantastic digi stamps by Jen's Digi Stamps and I love them, love them and love them. I had such fun coloring in these 3 wonderful Halloween digi stamps, that instead of a card I put together a layout.

So what do you think of Halloween Spooks:

The background paper I used is from Around the Block called Haunty, dated 2006. This was one from my stash of old papers that I have.

The top and bottom borders are from SEI borders called Spooks. The small title is from a box of die cuts that I have had for yearsssssssssss. LOL So no names on that. The Twinchies are some I made for a swap back a couple of years ago on the Cricut Board. I had a fun time making these on my Design Studio.

The Journaling Box and the Inchies are also from a swap back in 2005. Unfortunately the person who did these didn't label the back so I could give credit. I loved the little Spooky and Web Stamp on them. The Cat was a punch.

This is the 1st of the Digi's from Jen's Digi Stamps and he is just to adorable. Those eyes just call to you. I added Glossy Accents to the eyes to give even more of a dramatic effect.

This little guy was just calling to be placed on my layout. He just had that look that you can't refuse me extra candy look. LOL All the images are colored using the Prisma Color Pencils with Mineral Spirits to blend them.

This one just said I have an attitude and reminded me of my little one and said "I am just plain perfect!". So this one will be next to a pic of my little one, who thinks she is all that. LOL I added Glossy Accents to her and the spiders eyes to give them a bit of pop. Also, added some Studio G, Sparkle Writer in Silver to the belt buckle, hat buckle and the band on the broom.

Well I do hope you liked my Halloween in July project. Halloween is my families favorite time of the year. We love the decorations and the costumes are so much fun. Plus Fall is just to me the prettiest of all the seasons with its many colors of the earth.

Ouch!!!!

Well tomorrow is TGIF!!!! It is also my 48th B-day. YIKES!!! I am getting old. LOL Well because it feels like being kicked in the shin when the children say you are OLD, I made a layout called OUCH. Cause that is the way I felt when one of my friends kids said you are so old..... So this is what I came up with for a event in my youngest life that was wild. She broke her arm in March when she was 3 by going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and falling asleep on the toilet. She proceed to fall into the bathtub and hit her elbow in just the right place. Well to add to that, 3 1/2 weeks later she thought she could jump like a frog and tried to jump from the couch over the coffee table. Well she missed the mark and hit the edge of the coffee table with her head, so stiches. The to put the icing on the cake she decided that she couldn't jump from the couch to the table, she would try the bed to the floor. Lets just say she didn't see the dresser in front of the bed and jumped to far and landed up against the dresser causing it to fall on her. I was thinking that the hospital was going to call the police and I was going to go to jail for child abuse. I had the same Doctor the casted her arm the first time, do the second cast and he just laughed. My daughter proceeded in telling the Doctor that she was going to be a Dare Devil. Thank goodness she could talk. LOL

Well here is my project:

The true color of the background paper is an Army Green. My camera wouldn't take a good color picture.

I didn't ink any of the items cause it just looked good without the ink.

The Doctors Scrubs almost totally match the background paper.

The items used are Cardstock is all from Picture Perfect, and We R Memory Keeps, Embossable Designs, Ouch. I added nothing else and it was one of the quickest layouts I have ever done.

Hi all,

Well today is beautiful, it is in the low 80's and the sun is shinning. Well today I made a project using a digi stamp that I got from Jen's Digi Stamps. Her stamps are so adorable and fun to work with. I have 4 more that I will be playing with over the several days.

Well here is my project:

The digi stamp was such fun to color. I use my Prisma Color Pencils and Mineral Spirits to blend. Used VersaMagic Chalk Ink around the edges of the red cardstock and the white for the saying.

I added Stickles to the Candle flame and the dots on the Cupcake. Also there is Glossy Accents added to the eye of the Monkey as well.

Bathtime Layout

Well good morning to you all, it is hump day and I hope that your week is going well. I have another quick and simple layout that I made last night after work and dinner. It is using only things that I had on hand and again staying on my purchasing freeze.

So here it is:

The background paper is from Imaginisce's Wild Things line and the paper name is Safari Party. I used the reverse side of the paper. The cardstock is from Picture Perfect and I have no idea the colors as this is from 2004/05.

The die cuts are from We R Memory Keepers their Embossable Design collections this one is called Bathtime. I pop dotted all the dies on this page except the Title and the bubbles along the bottom of the page. I also put whit dots on the corners of the photo mats to give something extra.

All the die cuts except for the bubbles are popped up. I used the 2 3/8 Scallop and 1 3/4 Circle punches to make the little journaling areas. The bubbles around the journaling areas I made using the 1/2, 3/4 and 1" Circle punches. I glued them together is random ways and backed with white cardstock and cut out. I also added a white light area on each of the bubbles I made using a white gel pen. The pink scallop has holes punched around in each of the scallops and then there are some white dots around it next to the yellow circle to make it stand out a bit.

You are Invited to a Tea Party

Good Afternoon all,

hope you day has been a bright and cheery one. I am finishing up the We R Memory Keepers "Girls just want to have Fun" Embossible Die 12x12 sheet I found in my stash. Yes, it is from 2004. I know I am really a pack rat when it comes to my scrap stuff. Well with the left overs from the 2 page layout I made yesterday, I made another 2 page layout. See I am really working on going GREEN. LOL Do you know how hard it is not to buy any of the papers that I see out there. This thing about not being able to purchase anything but glue is really starting to bug me. But if any of you ever saw my stash, you would totally understand why I am on a paper restiction for a year. Who knows, I might get the courage up to do a video on my scraproom. I am still working on how to do those YouTube videos. I am not very technically inclined.

Well on with the layout:

I did the Tea Party on one side and the Make Up/Shoes on the other. This was because my little one would always have a Tea Party with the Make Up and Dress Up together.

I used 6 Stampin Up punches 2 different sizes on the Scalloped Circle and on the Circle ones.

I inked all the pieces and mats with VersaMagic chalk ink in "Sprng Pansy". I really like this color of the chalk.

I have been purging my scrapbook supplies as of late and trying very hard to go Green in not purchasing any paper or embelishment for this whole year. (Yes, I have a stores worth of stuff. It is really bad) Well I came across these 12x12 sheets of pre-printed and embossed die cuts by We R Memory Keepers. Now realize that the dates on these are 2004, so you can see I need to be purging. The one I am using today is "Girls just want to have Fun". Oh, the pattern paper, I have no clue who it is designed by as there is not label on them, it was stuff I found in my stash. I think I won it as blog candy. Not sure, but I thought it looked great with these cuts. The cardstock was left overs from my days in 2004 from Picture Perfect Scrapbooking. So don't have color names.

So here is what I came up with:

Made this a double page even though it goes from Flowers to Butterflies.

I inked all the edges of the dies and the mats with Versa Magic chalk ink in "Spring Pansy".

I used the Stampin Up Scalloped punch on the bottom of the Journaling box to give the layout a little more dimension. The photo mats are cut at 4 x 5 1/2 and layered at 3 3/4 x 5 1/4. The Journal box bottom layer is 6 1/4 x 3 with the top being 5 3/4 x 2 1/4.

Post It Note Holders with Box Vintage Style (well some what)

Hi all,

and can you believe it this will be my 2nd post today. Well Saturday I was at a wonderful all day crop here in Roseville, CA. What a great bunch of ladies and a wonderful hostess Brandi from "A Scrapbooker's Tale". Well I had made a Post It Note Holder and Box for the Summer Fun Blog Hop and was given a challenge with this one piece of scrapbook 12x12 paper. Well I decided that I would make another of the Post It Note Holder Box and see if I could make at least 1 Post It Note Holder. Well I suceeded and the hostess was so sweet she gave me an extra sheet of the paper so I could make 4 more of the holders to fit into the box.

Well enough talk and take a look:

I use 4 punches on the box for the decorations. The dark belt with buckle was part of the paper.

This was the 1st of the holders.

5th of the holders. This one was the left over scraps from the 1st sheet that I cut the box from.

These are all 5 of the holders that fit perfectly in the box.

Summer Fun Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Summer Fun Blog Hop. Hope you enjoyed yesterdays projects and got some ideas for some future projects.

I have a brand new "Wall Decor" Cricut cartridge that I am giving away for blog candy. To be able to have a chance to win you need to:

Well enough of that an on with my project. My project is a gift for a friend who uses Post It Notes like they are a must on everything. LOL I call her the Post It Queen. So for my project I made her 4 Post It Holders and decided that I needed something to hold them. So here is my Post It Holders and Post It Holder Box.

This box will hold 4 Post It Note Holders (that is 2 Post It's divided in 1/2).

These holders are not elaboratly decorated as you could be. My friend is very simple in her design and the paper is a bit busy.

The Post It's fit really nicely in to the holders with a 1/8" border on 2 sides and a 1/4" on the bottom.

The papers used was Bo-Bunny Back to Backs Mango Luau.

Cuts Sizes and Score Lines for the Box are:

8x8 for box scored at 3" and 5" then turn paper and score 2" and 6".

Fold all score line. Then cut the 2 small middle piece to make your tabs.

Cut 2 pieces 8" x 1" and score both pieces at 2" and 6". Take 1 of the pieces and cut off the 2 scored ends.

Cut 1 1/2" x 12 piece and score at 1 7/8", 3 7/8", 8", and 10".

Cut Sizes and Score Lines for the Post It Holder are:

Cut a 6 3/4 x 3 3/4 and score at 3 1/4" and 3 1/2"

Cut a 3 3/4 x 1 1/2 piece

Now you can add whatever you want for your embellishments. I added a Scallop punch, a Circle punch and a 5 petal flower punch with a Prima Peebles.

Summer Fun Blog Hop Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of the Summer Fun Blog Hop. We 13 very talented ladies who have made some fantastic projects for you to view. I hope you enjoy our little piece of summer.

The reason for the both day on my blog post is todays post was made 75% by my 10 year old daughter. She has been asking me and asking me to let her post on one of my hops, so today is her day. Tomorrow you will see my post. LOL it is so much fun being a parent.

Ok enough here is my little ones Summer Fun project:

The book is a Teachers Journal book I purchased at the Dallor Tree. I covered it with "Dream Street" pattern cardstock paper and some textured cardstock that I had in my scrap drawer. That is the only part of the journal that I did (oh, the inside of the back and front are also covered in pattern cardstock.

The Die Cuts she used are from my scrap box of extras that I cut and never used. She did all the decorating with the gems and rhinestones herself. She also added the stickers with her name and 2 small inches that I had in my spare file.

She used my Copic marker to color the finger nails, hair and to add the mouth. Then she decided to she wanted to add some more bling and stickled the grass skirt.

She then said it still isn't bingie enough and added gems to all the flowers and stickles to the middles of the Hybiscus flowers. So tons of bling lol.

Graduation Layout

Well hello to all of you wonderful people. I hope you all are enjoying your summer. I can say here in Northern Califronia it is hot and a little bit unfriendly, but it is summer. LOL

Well on to my project. I did this 2 page layout using stuff that I had from my left over stuff. I even used background paper that is at least 4 years old from a company that is no longer in business.

I did a Graduation Swap back in 2008 and 2009. I used all the left overs to make this layout.

The Journaling box is large, cause I have a lot to say, and the picture is for a 4x6 which I will cut down from one of the 5x7 I have.

There is a space for 3.5x3.5 photos or whatever I decide to put there.

Summer Begins Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to the 2nd day of the Summer Begins Blog Hop. I hope that you enjoyed your the hop yesterday and enjoy again today. My post is late due to my youngest having a Birthday party today. It was 20 girls at my house swimming and bouncing in the bounce house. It was a fantastic party, but I just finished cleaning after everyone left (which was 6:30pm). So almost 5 1/2 hours of cleaning. YIKES!!! Not sure I will do that many again next year. Well enough about my wild day and on with the hop.

I am sure you all are going that has nothing to do with summer. Well here in California (Northern) we have just in the past 4 days had good weather. The birds are finally singing in the morning and flying around my trees. We have been so cold and wet that we really had one of those soggy Spring Seasons. This is a card I made for a friend of mine who has been really depressed about the weather. She has some type of bird that during the warm days takes out with her on the porch and he sings like crazy to the other birds outside. It is a wonderful thing to hear. Well finally on Wednesday her little Pepper sang, and boy did he sing his little heart out. My friend was in tears, cause she said it had been to long of a Winter and she truly missed his singing. Well this is what the begining of Summer means to me this year.

This is to hold a picture of my little one planting our new flowers that will have for her special garden.

Title - "How does your garden grow?" - 2 1/2 inches

Directions:

Bird House: The bird house was cut twice using Design Studio. One of the houses was flipped. Since there are not pieces for this cut, I had to cut it 6 times each to get all the colors. Then cut each of the colors up using only the pieces I needed to have the colors I wanted. Then I chalked the edges.

Fence: The fence was cut 4 time using Design Studio. Two of the cuts were flipped and welded to make one long piece for each side of the gate. These were popped up with Dimensional and inked.

Mom's Day Blog Hop

My project has not been titled as I am still choosing pictures of my Mother that I am going to use. So I haven't really picked a titled because it will depend upon the pics. Well here we go.

This is not my normal 2 page layout, as there are no Cricut cuts at all.

The 2 journaling tags will be where I place the title. I will be using my handwriting for this as these pictures I am choosing from are very old pictures of my mother.

Hello and a wonderful Monday to you all. I had major internet problems yesterday due to wind and a tree that we will need to remove very soon here. After spending most of my day writing names on small pieces of paper, then folding them up, well my Darling Daughter came home and picked a name. Now I will tell you it took her forever to do this. She shook the bag at least for 5 minutes, then put her hand in the bag and stirred the pieces of fold paper for another 5 minutes. LOL, she wanted to make sure that whoever won got it because that was what was suppose to happen if all the name were mixed up really good. Well she did finally pull a name out of the bag.

Oh, just a quick note tried to get the layout I made for yesterdays blog hop from my friend and found out she left it in Tahoe at her Mom and Dad's Cottage house. So I have to wait till they go up next weekend to finishes cleaning up the place from the last huge storm we had. So it will be another week, she said if hubby gets off one day this week they will be going up that day and come back that night, so I am crossing my fingers. She took it to Tahoe to work on filling her album while hubby was cleaning off the snow and ice of the cottage roof. Boy, if that was my hubby, I would have to be out there with him cleaning the roof. I need her to have her husband train mine. LOL

Day 2 of April Showers Blog Hop

Welcome to day 2 of the April Showers Blog Hop. Sorry my post is late, but my post for today vanished when I tried to update the links. So all my work disappeared, but the worst was my beautiful layout is gone. I didn't save it to my computer due to thinking it was on my blog so I don't need to save anymore. So I am putting up some more cards that I had made last week using only scrap supplies and papers.

There are several of us in this hop that have made different projects for day 2 of this hop so please do go through and view them all. There is a list at the bottom of this post with all the blog that participated in this hop. These are some very talented women on these blogs and I think you will agree that they all have done a Wonderful job.

Well on to my back up projects. I will go back and get the layout from my friend and take more pics so I can post here, I was really proud of this one. Any who on to my cards:

This 1st one is useing a Trinchie from a swap I was in with some CTMH piece of ribbon I had left from years ago. I also got lucky and found 3 yellow flower brads, one of them is not the exact same color, but close. Only scrap paper was used, even for the base of the card.

This 2nd card is using a Trinchie from a swap with some yellow CTMH scrap ribbon and some black ribbon scrap from another swap I was in. The 2 flower brads are also left overs from another project and I only had 2 that matched. The stamps "Peace, Love, Forever" are from the Pink Stampers set "Friends and Family" set. Only scrap paper was used, even for the base of the card.

This last card is using a set of Trinchies and several layers of scrap papers. The trim are very small pieces I had left over (I don't throw anything away that is 2 inches or bigger. I used the SU punch on the edge, but it is bearly visable in the picture. There is one white button and 2 black dew drops on the pot of the bottom Trinchie. The base of the card is the only piece of paper that wasn't from my scrap pile.

I do have something sweet to give away. I have a new Cricut Lite Handyman Cartridge which will be drawn on Monday evening by my little one. April Showers Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Showers Blog Hop and I hope that you have a wonderful and creative adventure with all the Talent and Creative blogs that you will be hopping on to. Well todays project is very green in that I made all 3 of these cards using only scraps and old supplies that I had on hand. Card one was made especailly for this hop. The other 2 are cards that I made right after the one for this hop. I have to admit, I enjoyed using things that I didn't know what I was going to do with. Well enough of me, here is my project and the extras:

This is an A2 card. This is an ATC from a swap I was in back about 2 years ago. Not sure of the maker, but it is one that I really liked. The punch is by Stampin Up. Not sure of the cardstock due to all of it being from my scratch pile.

This is an A2 card with another of the ATC's I received from a swap. Also not sure what cuttlebug folders that were used as they were also from a swap that I was in. The stamped green card stock is also from my scratch pile.

This is a business size card that used a Stampin Up Border Punch and 3 Twinchies. Again I used only scratch pile stuff.

Make Up Your Own Holiday Blog Hop

Well hello and welcome to the "Make Up Your Own Holiday Blog Hop". I do hope you are having a wonderfully GREEN March and fantastic weekend. My project is a Holiday to celebrate talent. This talent can be anything you want it to be. Mine is singing for this 1/4 of the year. My daughter and I try to go see a play, or go to a concert of unknowns. In May it is Latin Dancers at the Festival La Famila in Sacramento. Next month is the High School Chior on stage. So this is how I came up with my holiday. I think that the Arts of the young are not appreciated as much as they should be. The talent at some of the High Schools is amazing. The children that dance at the Festival La Famila are breath taking. There is a little play house call "B" Street Theater in Sacramento, that puts on the greats plays with unknown actors and they are great.

Well I do have some blog candy to give away. I don't have a picture of it due to my camera is giving me nothing but problems. I am not a techy person and this camera is a bit over my head. Well I have a NP 1 1/4" Square Stampin Up punch and a 2" x 2" craft box (it is ready for you to design on). All you need to do is be a follower and leave me a post. Directions:

1)    Stamp greeting on 3 x 3 Very Vanilla cardstock and punch with 1 3/8 Circle punch. Keep the extra for Owls eyes.
2)    Punch corners using the Photo Corner Punch. Small one from Pear Pizzazz cardstock and large one from Early Espresso cardstock.
3)    Die cut 3 leaves from Pear Pizzazz using the Little Leaves die and the Big Shot.
4)    Glue leaves to 5 x 2 7/8 Very Vanilla cardstock (2 at the top and one at the bottom), using 2 Way Glue Pen.
5)    Take 5 x 2 7/8 Very Vanilla cardstock with Little Leave die cuts glued on and embossing using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
6)   Adhere embossed piece to the 3 x 5 Peach Parfait cardstock.
7)    Attach Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz DSP to Very Vanilla cardstock. Leaving space inbetween the two DSP pieces.
8)   Adhere a 3" piece of Peach Parfait Stitched-Poly Ribbon inbetween the two DSP pieced.
9)    Using a 4" piece of Peach Parfait Stitched-Poly Ribbon tie a knot around the attached piece of ribbon.
10)   Punch the Owl (x2) from the Early Espresso cardstock.
11)   Punch the Owls eyes (x2) from a scrap of Very Vanilla.
12)   Punch the Medium Owl eyes (x2) from the Peach Parfait cardstock.
13)   Punch the Owl Chest and Heart from the Peach Parfait DSP and the Pear Pizzazz DSP. (switch up the hearts to be on the different chest DSP's.
14)   Attach Owls, Greeting and Photo Corners using Dimensionals.

This is a little tricky to do, but I love the way it looks.

Hi all, hope you are having a GREEN and LUCKY day today. It is St. Patrick’s Day and my you all have the luck of the Irish with you.

I know I am going to shock some of my followers, because I did a set of 6 cards. I know I am not a true card maker, but I am trying and think I am improving with each one I do. Well these 6 cards are also very GREEN in that I used only stuff I had already, and I used ATC’s that I use to have hanging on my wall and wasn’t sure what to do with any longer. Well I designed some cards using these wonderful ATC’s.

So here you go:

All the ATC's on these cards are from a 2009 ATC swap I participated in. I wish I had who made each of these, but when I glued them to the poster I had on my wall, well I ruined the backs. All Card bases and are using Picture Perfect cardstock from my stash. The White cardstock is from Stampin Up and Picture Perfect. The Cream speckled cardstock is by Picture Perfect as well.

The embossing folder used was from Stampin Up - Square Latice #119976. The ink was also from Stampin up - Garden Green. The ribbon was from CTMH - Kentucky Green #Z120. The card base was from Picture Perfect (not sure of the color).

Guest Post on One by One the Flamingo's are Stealing My Sanity

Hello and a happy Wednesday to you all. Today is my Guest Designer post for One by One the Flamingo's are Stealing my Sanity. There are some really wonderfully talented women on the Design Team and I am very proud to be included with them. The project that we had to make this month was on "Make Up Your Own Holiday", well the one holiday that I came up with was "Doggone Day of Summer". This is a special time in my house, due to our little Long Haired Minature Dachshund "Pico". He tries so hard to save us when we go swimming, but it is just to priceless to see this little 1 foot high, 9 pound dog go flying off the edge of the deck straight into the pool. He then proceeds to grab you by your hair and pull you to the side of the pool to get out. He can swim, but with is long/short body it is just plain funny.

Well I went GREEN again and I am trying to keep that up this entire month. There are 2 Twinchies, a Journal Box, 2 Photo Mats and some embellishments that I did while in a swap (the photo mat on page 1 is one I made in 2006). The bowl, bone, and paw print in the far bottom right are from Jolee’s. The background paper is from SEI – Park Buddies – Puppy Tails #8-1503. The letters are also from SEI – Park Buddies – Doggy Treats #8-1504 for the red and SEI – Park Buddies - Hot Dogs #8-1501 for the blue shadow. The Cricut Cartridge I used was 3 Birds on Parade for the title. I also used my Design Studio to weld these letters together and at an angle. The orange/red and tan paw prints are a die cut a friend cut for me a while ago. All of the items, including the papers were from my stash. Letters are at 1.5".

Nothing really totally matches, but pretty close for only having to cut the title and grab some background paper (which was all stuff I have in my stash). I am so very proud of myself. I have not purchased anything at all this month and I am going to see if I can keep going for at least 2 months. Well except for glue which I run out of a lot. I figure that I need to use what I have and stop purchasing more. We shall see how long I can go.

Good Day to you all.

This is just to let you be aware that I have changed my blog address to http://www.creationswithkathryn.com/. This will be taking affect over the next 3 days. The old address will work for a little while longer, but not sure of the exact length of time.

I am looking at doing alot of changing of my blog and what will be happening here at Creations With Kathryn. Some of the things in the works here are:

Videos - ie: Tutorials on the Expression, Gypsy, Design Studio, hopfully soon the Craft Room, Designing Layouts, Cards and using your Copics.
Challenges - a once a month challenge to make something using a certain cut.
Cartridge Use - Pulling out a cartridge and showing several different projects using that cartridge.
Stamps - taking stamps that you think only have one use and putting them to use in other ways
Copic Markers - Showing the different blending techniques and the ways to choose colors that blend well together.
Much More.....

I look forward to all of these thing happening befor this summer. I am just working out some final details and will get started.

I was bouncing around through old blog hops that I didn't get a chance to look at when they where doing the hop. Well, I can across a really great blog by a little 4 1/2 year old girls blog that her Nana is helping her with. It is so priceless and inspirational. I am truly looking forward to the day that I have a granddaughter that I can craft with like Kaleigh and her Nana do. Here is the link to her blog.

Ok, I am finally able to log in to my blog. Been trying since Monday morning at 7am and it kept giving me error unable to log in at this time, try back later. Well finally this morning I am up and able to get into it. YEAH!!!!!!

Because of not being able to post the winner of the "Simply Charmed" Cartridge, I have also drawn another winner who is going to recieve 2 brand new Copic Sketch markers YR02 & YR04 plus the "atyou Spica" - Peach - Glitter pen. The 2 Sketch markers are perfect for blending together as they are 2 numbers apart and will blend nicely together. The Glitter pen will also match with these as well and will be a great start or add to anyones collection.

Well on to my part of the creative side of this hop. I did a a kinda pun on the "Green" as I LOVE, LOVE my Cricut Machines and tools. So here is my take on the "Green".

"It's All About The Green"

I am praying that one day that Cricut will come to Central/Northern California and give me a chance to get a picture with the Cricut (the bug) guy.

I staggered the letters of the title to help give it more interest.

I am truly sorry for the low color quality of these pictures. But, with over 50 pictures trying to get the real colors of this layout, it just wasn't happening. But the colors do really match the greens of this to the "T".

Welcome all to the 1st day of the "It's All About The Green" Blog Hop. Thank you for hopping over. This is a 2 day blog hop with a different project each day. So be sure to come back again to see the next set of projects. There are so many very talented and extremely talented ladies in this hop, it is sure to get your creative juices flowing.

If you found my blog by accident, welcome and you are starting in the right spot. This is the beginning of this hop and there is a list with links to all the participants at the end of this post. So if you get lost, please be sure to hop back here and pick up where you left off at. This hop is not your normal St Patrick Day's hop. This is a hop about anything that is Green. So you will see some St. Patty Day projects, but you will also see some totally different projects for this hop as well. So sit back and begin your "Green" creative journey.

I am also giving away blog candy (a Cricut Cartridge brand new in packageing) with this hop. As you will see, each of my 2 layouts have nothing to do with St. Patricks Day at all. I put a little bit of a spin on what I created. This 2 page layout, I used an item that I had in my "Give to my daughter" box. Tomorrows Layout is really a very special 2 page layout that I think will be a big hit.

Anywhooo, here is my first project being Eco "Green" and Color "Green" at the same time. LOL
